Since its founding in 1891,
Child & Family Services (C&FS) has served over 250,000 people with a broad array
of services for children, families and adults of all ages. From 1891 to 1971, the
programming of C&FS (then known as the Michigan Children’s Aid Society) was
exclusively in the sphere of the well-being of children (adoption, foster care,
pregnancy, counseling, residential treatment of adolescent girls). A 1971 merger
with the Berrien County Family Counseling Service (family counseling, homemaker
service) and the new name of Child & Family Services began a trend of program
diversification that has continued to the present. |
